BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP)- Nigel Snipes scored 24 points and hit 5 of 10 3-pointers and WKU beat Campbellsville 97-77 Saturday night in its season opener.
Fredrick Edmond scored 20, Justin Johnson added 16 with 15 rebounds and four assists, and Ben Lawson chipped in 13.
The lead changed hands eight times before WKU pulled ahead 35-23 after a 12-3 run that Snipes started and ended with 3s. Edmond scored 12 points in the half and the Hilltoppers shot 52.6 percent for a 49-39 halftime lead.
WKU opened the second half with a 20-6 run in which Snipes scored two more 3s and led by 25 points at the midway mark.
