Team Records and Series Notes
- Captains for WKU were Tyler Higbee, Nick Holt, Forrest Lamp and Wonderful Terry. WKU won the toss and received.
- WKU improves to 6-1, while North Texas falls to 0-6. North Texas leads the series 4-3, but WKU has won the last three.
- WKU is bowl eligible for the fifth-consecutive season and for fifth year of the seven FBS era seasons.
- The 6-1 start is WKU's best start of FBS era and earliest WKU has reached six wins since getting win No. 6 on Oct. 14, 2000.
- The Hilltoppers have now won seven straight over C-USA opponents, program's longest streak since winning nine-straight games against Sun Belt opponents across the years of 2011 to 2012. The streak ties Baylor and Appalachian State for sixthlongest active streak in the country.
- The 4-0 start in conference play is the first in FBS era and first since starting Gateway play 4-0 in 2005.
Team Notes
- WKU's third touchdown of the game came on a one-play, 56-yard drive. It was the 11th scoring drive that lasted under a minute for the Hilltoppers this season.
- The 683 total yards by WKU were the fourth-most in a single game in school history. All of the Top 4 are in Brohm era.
Player Notes
- With his 350 passing yards, senior quarterback Brandon Doughty has now thrown for the fourth-most yards in a single season with 2,889. He became the FBS leader in passing yards, passing Bowling Green's Matt Johnson who plays Saturday.

- Doughty has thrown a touchdown pass in 21 straight games, which ties TCU's Trevone Boykin with longest active streak in FBS. Boykin plays on Saturday later this week.
- Doughty continued his impressive first-half play as he threw for 288 yards and four touchdowns. He has tossed 17 touchdowns before halftime in last four games combined.
- Doughty now has 24 passing touchdowns on the season, which gives him the top two seasons for touchdowns in WKU history as he threw for 49 last season. Doughty is the only quarterback to be in the Top 10 in the category in three separate seasons.
- Garrett Schwettman has split the uprights on 87 consecutive PATs, the second-longest streak in WKU history. He is the only kicker to post two streaks of 50+ as he held a run of 59 straight from 10/11/12-11/2/13.

- Schwettman also went 2-2 on field goals to move into third in WKU history in career field goals with 48.
- Taywan Taylor, who entered the game as the leading receiver in C-USA, finished the game with 134 yards on seven catches and added two touchdowns. For the year, Taylor leads WKU with 825 yards and 10 touchdowns.

- Taylor now has 114 career receptions, tying Eddie Preston (1976-79) for 10th-most in WKU history. His 10 touchdowns this season tie Curtis Hamilton from 2006 for third-most in a single season in school history.
- His 825 yards this season tie Dangerfield's mark of 825 from last season, which are the nine most in program history.
- Marcus Ward recorded the second interception of his career and first since the Morgan State game on Sept. 21, 2013.
- Returner Kylen Towner moved into seventh at WKU in career kick returns with 40.
- Anthony Wales registered his second-straight 100-yard rushing game and third of his career with 193 yards on a career-high 21 carries. The 193 rushing yards were the most by a C-USA player this season in a conference game.

- He also added 66 receiving yards in the contest to set a new single-game career high for total yards with 259, while also adding his first-career receiving touchdown.
- His rushing yards were the most by a WKU running back this season and most since Leon Allen ran for 237 at Marshall last season.
- Jared Dangerfield caught his 16th-career touchdown in the first quarter, moving him into eighth all-time in program history.
