2015 (r-Sr.): Higbee launched into the starting role as a senior as he appeared in nine games with eight starts and proved his versatility as a blocker and pass catcher, earning a midseason addition to the Biletnikoff Watch List. Higbee racked up a pair of 100-yard receiving games and four touchdowns through the first four games of the year and caught at least one touchdown in six of his nine games, catching two touchdowns against Miami (Ohio) and Marshall. Higbee was named the John Mackey Award Tight End of the Week following the season opener at Vanderbilt when he caught four passes for 102 yards - nearly half of WKU's 209 yards through the air - and the go-ahead touchdown. It was Higbee's 65-yard reception in the third quarterback, which he caught 15 yards down field and ran it down to the Vanderbilt four-yard line to setup WKU's first score of the game, that proved to be his most valuable play.
2014 (r-Jr.): As the team's No. 2 tight end, Higbee tallied 230 yards on 15 receptions, including four touchdowns. Higbee's breakout performance came on a three-touchdown day at No. 19 Marshall as he caught six passes for 99 yards. Higbee played in 11 of 13 games with three starts at Navy and against Army and UTSA. He also totaled three special teams tackles. Higbee was the CFPA honorable mention National Tight End of Week following the Marshall game. He was also one of only three tight ends last season to catch at least three touchdowns in a game, joined by FIU's Jonnu Smith and Minnesota's Maxx Williams. Higbee also became one of just four players in WKU history to catch at least three touchdowns in a single game and the first since 1978.
2013 (r-So.): Higbee saw time in seven games, starting three of the first five at tight end after converting over from wide receiver. He finished the year with 13 catches for 169 yards and a touchdown, that score coming at South Alabama in week three. His best showing of the season was a five catch, 67-yard performance also against South Alabama. Higbee tallied three catches for 41 yards against Kentucky and four catches for 31 yards against Navy.
2012 (r-Fr.): Higbee redshirted in 2012.
2011 (Fr.): Higbee played in 11 games as a true freshman, one of two true freshmen receivers to see extensive playing time for the Hilltoppers on offense. He finished the regular season with a pair of catches for 92 yards, making one start at the receiver position against Florida Atlantic on Oct. 15. Higbee finished the regular season with a bang, reeling in the first catch of his career against North Texas on Nov. 19, a 63-yard touchdown grab in the first half of a WKU win. He followed up that performance with his second catch in as many weeks, catching a 29-yard pass against Troy on Nov. 26 in the regular-season finale.
HS/Misc.: Higbee was named team MVP and team captain for his senior season at East Lake High School. He reeled in 42 receptions as a tight end, leading the county in receptions, to total over 540 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in his final season. He finished his career with over 1,100 yards receiving and 18 touchdowns. Higbee earned First -Team All-County honors as well as being a Pinellas County All-Star his senior year. He was rated as a two-star recruit by Rivals.com after lettering all four years in football. He also earned a pair of letters on the baseball diamond at the varsity level.
