BOWLING GREEN, Ky.--WKU softball head coach Amy Tudor announced that Carleigh Chaumont will be one of nine newcomers to the 2015 squad, adding depth to the roster as the Lady Toppers head into their first season in Conference USA.
"Carleigh was a multiple-sport athlete in high school, and that will bring a lot of athleticism to our team," Tudor said. "We see her fitting really well in a role as a middle infielder and providing power to our lineup."
Originally from Lake Charles, La., Chaumont signed her NLI with the Lady Toppers after leading Sam Houston High School to three state titles. The infielder was named to the All-District team multiple years as well as earning All-State Honorable Mention honors. Selected as an East/West All-Star, Chaumont also played volleyball and soccer in high school where she was an All-District selection for both.
Chaumont joins fellow freshmen Kayla Baker, Lexie Norfleet and Hannah Parker on the field in 2015.
