TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - WKU Soccer will play its final non-conference tune up before heading into its inaugural Conference USA slate when the Lady Toppers (4-2) visit Indiana State (2-4-2) on Friday. First touch is set for 6 p.m. (CT) at Memorial Stadium.
The Lady Toppers and Indiana State met for the first time at the WKU Soccer Complex last season, with WKU earning the win 2-1 courtesy of Lauren Moats' game-winning goal in the 74th minute. Moats, a junior forward, leads WKU with three goals and seven total points in 2014.
WKU is coming off a 1-1 showing at the Yale Classic in New Haven, Conn., where it fell to the host Bulldogs 2-0 last Friday before pulling out a 2-1, overtime victory over Sacred Heart on Sunday. Moats played the role of hero in the victory over the Pioneers, chipping in the golden goal during the 96th minute for her fifth-career game-winning score.
The Sycamores snapped a five-match winless streak last Sunday with a 7-0 thumping of Chicago State in their first home match of the season. ISU is led by junior midfielder Sydney Lovelace, who has netted three goals and assisted on three others for a team-high nine points.
