BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Redshirt senior Mia Riddick was named Conference USA Goalkeeper of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. This is Riddick's third time earning the honor this season.
Riddick helped lead the Hilltoppers (8-1-4) to a 2-0 week in CUSA play. WKU defeated Sam Houston, 2-0, on Thursday, and earned the 1-0 victory over Missouri State on Sunday to move to 2-1-0 in CUSA play.
Riddick played all 180 minutes in goal across both matches, securing both shutouts while making four saves. Her performance this week was highlighted by a leaping save on a ball headed toward the top of the net against Sam Houston and a late save on a Missouri State attempt to equalize. For the season, Riddick has now recorded seven shutouts and 37 saves. The goalkeeper has established herself as one of the best in the nation, ranking first nationally in goals-against average (0.19) and save percentage (.950), while ranking fourth in shutouts.
WKU will continue CUSA play this weekend on the road. The Hilltoppers will take on Delaware Sunday, Oct. 11, at 12 p.m. (CT) at Stuart & Suzanne Grant Stadium in Newark, Delaware.
