BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - WKU Baseball will host its annual Labor Day Showcase for players entering grades 9-12 on Sunday, Aug. 31 at Nick Denes Field.
The showcase will have two sessions, with the first running from 8:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (CT) and the second starting at 12:30 and ending at 5:15. The cost of a single session is $150.
The showcase will allow athletes to go through a professional-style workout, take batting practice on Nick Denes Field, go through various workouts in the state-of-the-art hitting facility, take part in pre and post-game pitching routines and participate in a live scrimmage to wrap up the day. The Labor Day Showcase is extremely important in the recruitment of student athletes for the baseball program as multiple future Hilltoppers are located at the event every year.
The Labor Day Showcase is a great way to display abilities to entire WKU coaching staff and learn more about WKU Baseball. Each participant will be heavily evaluated by all five members of the coaching staff and can receive their evaluation by contacting coaches within a few weeks of the event via email.
All athletes will receive a WKU Baseball official workout top, have the opportunity to tour the new WKU baseball clubhouse, the WKU weight room and other landmarks around the WKU campus. For those interested, there will also be junior colleges in attendance.
