SAN MARCOS, Texas—One swing of the bat from sophomore Brooke Holloway helped the Western Kentucky University softball team (31-14-1, 10-4) seal a doubleheader sweep of Texas State (21-26, 4-10) on Friday at the Bobcat Softball Stadium.
WKU swept the games by scores of 1-0 and 6-1 while game three will be played at noon CT in San Marcos.

GAME ONE—WKU 1, Texas State 0
Holloway hit her team-high fifth home run in the top of the seventh frame to seal a 1-0 win for the Lady Toppers.
Holloway's home run was one of four hits by WKU in the contest, as the Texas product had one other along with seniors Amanda Thomas and Olivia Watkins.
Senior Emily Rousseau (16-10) earned the win after giving up five hits while striking out five in the contest. Texas State's Rayn House (18-16) had four hits against her to go with a walk in her complete-game performance.
WKU reached base in every inning, but it was Holloway's one-out home run that would add the lone run needed for the win.

GAME TWO—WKU 6, Texas State 1
WKU capitalized on eight hits and two Bobcat errors to take a 6-1 win in Friday's second game at Texas State.
Junior Shawna Sadler went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI while fellow classmate Preslie Cruce had two hits, including here fifth home run of the year.
Freshman Hannah Miniard (13-4) had six hits in her complete-game outing to go with seven walks and eight strikeouts. Bobcat pitcher Kaylee Garner (1-6) gave up eight hits with five earned runs while dishing out two walks and two strikeouts.
The Bobcats scored first in the top inning, as Baker reached base on a walk. A wild pitch and sacrifice bunt moved the runner to third before Baker scored on an illegal pitch by Miniard.
The lead would hold until the fourth inning when WKU would tie it up at 1 apiece when a senior Kelsie Mattox run would come in off of junior Jacqueline McGill's fielder's choice. The Lady Toppers would score in each consecutive inning after, as Cruce hit her solo homer and Watkins scored on an error by Texas State's catcher in the fifth to make it 3-1.
A freshman India Steward RBI single in the sixth made it 4-1 before Sadler's two-RBI triple in the seventh made it a 6-1 ballgame.
