One of the longest-running rivalries in college basketball, the WKU-Murray State series dates back to 1932. WKU leads the all-time series 98-53 but trails the series in games contested in Murray, 32-30, and has not defeated the Racers on the road in its last three tries going back to an 82-72 win in Murray on Dec. 4, 2004.
WKU has won back-to-back games holding its opponents under 60 points and is looking for its first three-game winning streak since the beginning of February last season.
Murray State returns four starters and seven letterwinners from a 2013-14 squad that finished 23-11 and won the CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT) at the end of the season. Murray State was picked to be the 2014-15 Ohio Valley Conference champion in the preseason coaches and sports information directors poll, and sophomore guard Cameron Payne was tabbed as the Preseason Player of the Year.
