The Hilltoppers are coming off a 20-12 season in 2013-14 and enter a new era with affiliation in Conference USA, joining 13 other schools in the conference spanning El Paso, Texas to Norfolk, Va.
WKU returns nine letterwinners and four starters from a season ago, and the Hilltoppers will see five newcomers suit up Saturday for the first time in a regular-season contest.
Austin Peay and WKU first met on December 8, 1941, a 42-34 Hilltopper victory, and the two were Ohio Valley Conference rivals from the mid-1960s to the mid-1980s. The Governors return six letterwinners and three starters from a team that went 12-18 a season ago.
Following the game against Austin Peay, WKU heads to Minneapolis, Minn., to face off against Minnesota Tuesday night at 7:00 (CT) to start the campus site portion of the 2014 NIT Season Tip-Off.
