
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Junior Lady Topper runners Katie Lever and Lindsey Hinken both finished Top 30 in a field of 300 runners at the Greater Louisville Classic at Tom Sawyer Park on Saturday morning to spark a solid showing from the WKU squads.
Lever finished 25th overall with a time of 17:37.39 and Hinken clocked in at 17:41.45 to grab 30th place in her first meet of the season to lead the Lady Toppers to a 12th-place finish among 32 teams in the women's gold division. Hinken was two seconds off her personal record time while Lever was the top finisher for WKU for the fourth-consecutive meet dating back to 2013's NCAA Southeast Regional.
Senior David Mokone led the Hilltoppers for the ninth-straight meet, crossing the finish line 42nd out of 250 runners in the men's gold division. Mokone clocked in at 24:54.90.
Sophomore Peter Agaba and junior Aaron Stevens weren't far behind Mokone, recording personal best times of 24:58.43 and 25:24.24, respectively, to finish in 48th and 81st place. The Hilltoppers wound up finishing 17th out of 28 teams with 469 team points as Aaron Stevens and Joshua Price wrapped up the team scoring.
Juniors Taylor Carlin and Baylee Shofner along with senior Jodi Miller rounded out the Lady Topper scoring of 372 points.
