Women's 6K Results TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Junior Katie Lever led the WKU women's cross country team for the fifth-straight meeting and turned in a ninth-place performance Saturday at the Pre National Invitational hosted by Indiana State at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course.
Lever clocked a 21:49.60 in the 6K White Race in recording her fifth-career Top 10 finish, placing ninth overall in the field of 214 runners. Fellow junior Taylor Carlin continued her solid season and was WKU's No. 2 finisher with a time of 23:02.48.
For the Hilltoppers it was sophomore Peter Agaba leading the way for the first time in his young career. Agaba placed 49th in the field of 192 runners with an 8K time of 26:00.8 in the White Race. All five of the Hilltoppers' scoring runners finished within 40 seconds of one another, with junior Aaron Stevens, senior David Mokone, senior Sean Hurd and freshman Endalow Takele all coming in under 27 minutes.
Overall, the Hilltoppers finished 16th out of 28 teams in the White Race with 361 team points. The Lady Toppers were 18th out of 33 teams with 460 team points.
Senior Jodi Miller was the No. 3 finisher for the Lady Tops at 23:43.70 while freshman Savannah Ames and junior Baylee Shofner rounded out the Lady Topper scoring.
Both teams will be idle next weekend and will continue their work toward the upcoming Conference USA Cross Country Championships, hosted by North Texas in Denton on Nov 1. For more information on the WKU cross country teams, follow the program on Twitter at @WKUTrackField.
