(CC): Ran in all three regular season meets for the Lady Toppers and closed the year at the Conference USA Championships...Opened the season with a 22:57.8 reading at the Golden Eagle Invite 5K...Knocked over two minutes off the time of her next 5K, coming two weeks later at the Commodore Invitational (20:56.2)...Chipped away nearly another minute with a 19:57.84 reading at the Greater Louisville Classic...Closed the year by turning in her best time yet, a 19:30.5 5K mark at the conference championships.
2015-16 (Sophomore) - (CC): Ran in both the Saint Louis 5K (19th, 19:35.0) and Greater Louisville Classic 5K ( before missing Pre-Nationals...Came back and ran at the Conference USA Championships (50th, 19:23.9)...Closed the year competing at the NCAA Southeast Regional 6K event (163rd, 23:55.1)...Continued to better her 5K time with each meet, recording her season-best time at the C-USA meet (19:23.9).
2014-15 (Freshman) - (CC): Ames was the lone rookie and one of four Lady Toppers to race in all six meets during the 2014 cross country season…She scored for the Lady Tops at the C-USA Cross Country Championships with a season-best 5K time of 18:39.14 that earned her 44th-place honors…Ames was also WKU's No. 5 finisher at the NCAA Southeast Regionals, where she posted a career-best 6K time of 23:19.87.
(Indoor): Ames raced in five meets during her first indoor season, which was highlighted by her running a leg on WKU's fifth-place distance medley relay at the C-USA Indoor Championships.
(Outdoor): Ames posted three Top 10 finishes in her five outdoor meets, included a fifth-place effort in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Kentucky Relays…She clocked her season-best steeplechase at the Hilltopper Relays in 11:28.70, which was good for seventh at the meet…Ames placed 12th in the steeplechase at the C-USA Outdoor Championships with a time of 12:27.68.
HIGH SCHOOL: Ames joins the Lady Toppers following a standout cross country and track career at Althoff Catholic High School. The distance specialist was a two-time Illinois State Cross Country Finals qualifier, finishing 11th in 2013 with a personal record clocking of 17:53. Ames also qualified for the Illinois State Finals on the track, finishing sixth in the mile run in 2013.
