BOCA RATON, Fla. — Freshman infielder Preslie Cruce was named to the Sun Belt Softball All-Tournament Team on Saturday. Cruce's three-run home run in the seventh inning against ULM on Friday gave WKU the 5-3 win that advanced the Lady Toppers to the semifinals of the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship.
Cruce hit .385 in the Lady Toppers' four games in the Sun Belt Tournament, slugging .692 with a .467 on base percentage. She had at least one hit in each game, including a 2-for-4 game against South Alabama Friday night. Cruce led WKU with four RBI in the tournament. She was also named Second Team All-Sun Belt on Tuesday.
WKU finished the 2012 season with a 33-25-1 record.
