Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University’s men’s and women's cross country teams earned All-Academic status from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), as announced by the organization this week.
The Hilltoppers had a team GPA of 3.39 and were among 147 men's institutions to earn the status. The Lady Toppers had a GPA of 3.43 and were among 205 women's institutions honored.
WKU swept the Sun Belt Conference cross country championship this fall, while the women are currently riding the nation's longest league winning streak, having won every SBC title dating back to the 2006 indoor season.
To qualify as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Cross Country Team, the team must have had a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 or better and have started at least five runners at their respective NCAA regional championship.
