LOUISVILLE, Ky. – WKU cross country wrapped competition in its third meet of the 2026 fall season at the 25th annual Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. The Hilltoppers posted a fifth-place overall team finish on the men's side, while the women posted a ninth-place overall team finish.
Justin Doran and Mikie Carnell highlighted the Tops' effort in the Men's 8k Gold event, finishing 24th and 25th respectively in a field of 251 runners. Doran clocked a time of 24:30.0 for the 8k while Carnell followed with a time of 24:30.4. Sam Herbig finished 42nd with a time of 24:55.3 and Trevor Hudnall finished 62nd with a time of 25:14.0.
On the women's side, Caterina Rossomanno led the Tops' effort in the 5k Gold event with a time of 18:09.2, good for a 24th-place finish in a field of 240 runners. Lilly Brooks followed with a 35th-place finish, clocking a time of 18:18.6 in the 5k.
