BOWLING GREEN, KY. - The Western Kentucky University softball team will host the 2012 Topper Fall Classic I this weekend at the WKU Softball Field.
The Topper Fall Classic I will begin on Saturday, October 6 with the finale on Sunday, October 7. WKU will welcome three other teams to the tournament-Eastern Kentucky University, Evansville and Tennessee. The Lady Toppers will take the field Saturday at 11 a.m. against Evansville and again at 4 p.m. versus Tennessee. On Sunday, WKU will play the last game against EKU at 3:30 p.m.
Saturday's game will also be recognized as Breast Cancer Awareness Day, and the Lady Toppers will wear pink jerseys in their games.
The Topper Fall Classic II will be two weekends later starting on Saturday, October 20 and ending Sunday, October 21. Four other teams will come to Bowling Green-Tennessee State, Columbus State, Murray State and Volunteer State. WKU will play back-to-back on Saturday with Columbus State at 9 a.m. followed by Tennessee State at 11 a.m. The Lady Toppers will finish up the tournament on Sunday with Volunteer State at 11 a.m. and Murray State at 4 p.m.
