BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - The WKU baseball program has announced it will be offering a Father & Son camp this June. The camp is for those wanting to learn the proper fundamentals of the game. Hitting, throwing, fielding and specific instruction are covered during each session by the coaching staff.
The camp will be held Sunday, June 19, from 1-6 p.m. at Nick Denes Field on the WKU campus and is for kids ages 8-13.
All of the techniques and drills are used on a daily basis by the WKU Baseball team. Each father and camper are guaranteed to have a fun and exciting time at camp while learning the proper mechanics.
The first part of the day will consist of instructions with both father and son, teaching hitting, throwing, and catching while the second part of the day will be a game played with both fathers and sons. The camp will conclude with a cookout on the third base deck.
The cost is $110 per father and one son and $25 for each additional son.
Players should bring a glove, bat, cleats/spikes, running shoes or turf shoes, hat, and any other equipment they feel necessary to compete. Catchers must bring their own gear. Helmets will be provided.
