Hey there Hilltopper Fans!
Today you'll be hearing from me, Katrina Metoyer. This is my second year here at Western, and though it's no California, it has become my second home.
As my teammates mentioned before, we've officially started season, and I couldn't be any more excited about it. Spring, in my opinion, is the best part of the school year, because you finally have an excuse to miss class (just kidding!) The real reason spring is so exciting, is because all the hard work my teammates and I put in during the fall finally gets put to use.
For example, after not having the showing we had planned for against EKU during our home opener, WKU Softball bounced back with a tremendous showing at the "Red and Blue Classic" in Oxford, MS. Not only was our defense there, our bats were as well, just ask Amanda Walden who is one of the 5 people who recorded a homerun this weekend.
Going undefeated this weekend, with a record of 5-0, is really thrilling because it gives my teammates and me just a glimpse of what we're capable of. Though we had many adversities we had to work through, such as the cold weather, fighting through extra innings, and even sleep deprivation, we still managed to pull together as a team and come out victorious!
I hope everyone is ready for us, because WKU is becoming the team to beat! 2011 is our season, and we're definitely going to make it one to remember, so come out and watch us play, we'd love your support. J
God Bless and Go Tops!
