BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - Western Kentucky University Head Softball Coach Tyra Perry announced on Wednesday the signing of Kelsi Pardue to a National Letter of Intent to play softball for the Lady Toppers in the 2013 season.
Pardue is a three-year starting pitcher for the Allen County-Scottsville Patriots. She has been named to the 15th District All-Tournament Team in each of the last two seasons, as well as the Fourth Region All-Tournament Team in each of the last three seasons. Pardue was the MVP of the 2010 Fourth Region Tournament. She has led Allen County-Scottsville to the Kentucky State Tournament in each of the last three years, and was named MVP of the tournament in 2011. Pardue was named the Fourth Region Player of the Year in 2010 and 2011, and was First Team All-State in those years as well.
In three seasons Pardue has amassed a record of 82-16 in the circle, a career earned run average of 0.90, 885 strikeouts, and 34 shutouts. She pitched a perfect game in the 2011 State Tournament, and set single-season school records for wins and strikeouts in 2011 too. Pardue has played for the KY Sluggers in 2009, 2010, and 2011. In 2010, the Sluggers finished ninth out of 160 teams in the ASA Nationals.
"I'm very excited to be playing at Western Kentucky next season," said Pardue. "I know it's a place I can call home."
Pardue is the daughter of Kevin and Kristi Pardue.
"Kelsi Pardue is a fighter on the mound," said Perry. "She competes on every pitch and is as consistent as they come. We are very excited that Kelsi will be joining the Lady Toppers next season."
