Bowling Green, Ky.- A native of Chicago, Ill., Shawna Sadler is a starter for the Marian Catholic High School in Chicago Heights, Ill. Sadler was named to the 2010 ESCC All-Conference team, the 2010 Southtown Star All-Area Team, and the 2010 Chicago Suntimes All-Area team honorable mention. She was also named the Marian Catholic Offensive Player of the Year in 2010. A member of the Illinois Southern Force. In the 2010 ASA Nationals, Sadler had a .423 batting average, placing 13th in the country in College Station, Texas. Sadler has been named team captain for 2011.
Sadler is the daugther of Errick and Deundrea Sadler.
"I felt excited and relieved," said Sadler. "I had the feeling that I made the right decision to continue my education at an excellent academic institution with a great softball program."
"Shawna brings much needed speed and a lefty presence to our line-up," said Perry. "She is an aggressive player with very good instincts. Shawna is also an excellent student and will without a doubt do great things here on the Hill."
