MOREHEAD, Ky. - The WKU softball team (13-5, 3-0 SBC) fell to Morehead State in a single game on Thursday night after recording just two hits and committing three errors.
After junior Brooke Reed posted a single in the first inning, WKU gave up a run to Morehead State in the second inning and gave up three runs in the sixth inning to be shut out for the second time this season. The Lady Toppers were led by the game by Reed and junior Lindsay Antone who both had one hit during the game.
In the second inning, Morehead State got on the board after posting one hit and two WKU errors. Then, Morehead State sealed the deal recording another three runs off three hits.
Senior pitcher, Jennifer Kempf, took the loss for the Lady Toppers throwing a complete game and giving up seven hits and striking out one.
WKU travels to Rock Hill, S.C. this weekend to compete in the Winthrop adidas Invitational. Up first for the Lady Toppers is Wright State. The two teams will face off at 12 p.m. CST.
