Bowling Green, Ky. The WKU softball team continued fall season play this past weekend in the Louisville Fall Tournament finishing 1-1 with a 13-2 blow-out of Anderson University. The Lady Toppers, who fell to Louisville 2-1, continued their hard-htitting ways scoring 13 runs and 11 hiits throughout the tournament.
Senior Jennifer Kempf also continued to dominate her opponents on the mound giving up only nine hits and two walks in the two game while striking out ten batters. Offensively for the Lady Toppers, sophomore Sara Williams hit her first homerun of the fall season against Anderson. Overall, WKU recorded five singles, two doubles, three triples and one homeroom during the weekend.
The Lady Toppers will take on conclude their fall season this weekend by hosting the Topper Fall Classic at the WKU Softball Field. Thursday night WKU will take on Lindsey Wilson at 5 p.m. CDT. Friday, they will face Volunteer State Community College at 3 p.m. and Kentucky Wesleyan at 7 p.m. In addition, Friday will be Breast Cancer Awareness day and the Lady Toppers will wear pink jerseys and be collecting donations in an effort to support and promote breast cancer research.
