Stillwater, Okla. - The Western Kentucky women's soccer team saw its three game winning streak come to an end Thursday night as they fell to Oklahoma St. 4-1 Thursday night in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The Lady Cowboy's Courtney Robb, Jolene Schweitzer, and Krista Dedmon scored three consecutive first half goals within eight minutes of each other to seize control of the contest and give Oklahoma State (5-0) a 3-0 advantage at halftime. The Lady Cowboys outshot Western (3-2-0) 7-1 on goal in the first half.
The teams went scoreless for the first 30 minutes of the second half until Kim Warren (Fr., Austin, Texas) scored Western 's lone goal of the game in the 76th minute of regulation to cut the lead to 3-1. Katherine Hunt (Fr., Bowling Green, Ky.) assisted on the score. It was Warren's third goal of the season and third straight game in which she has scored a goal. Oklahoma State's Jere Boykin added another goal in the 81st minute to round out the scoring.
For the game, Oklahoma State outshot Western 18-5 on goal. Kat Doud (5-0-0) picked up the win in goal for the Lady Cowboys while Lady Topper goalie Amy Uhlman (So., Louisville, Ky.) lost just her second game of the season. Uhlman (3-2-0) and backup goalkeeper Melissa Bailey (Jr., Bowling Green, Ky.) each recorded two saves apiece for the Lady Toppers.
Western continues its Midwest road trip with a road match against Drake University Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa. Match time is set for 7:00 p.m. (CDT).
