Tommy Winterstein came to Bowling Green in January of 2016 after serving as the Director of Player Development at his alma mater Charleston Southern. He assists the coaching staff, primarily with pitchers and catchers, while coordinating Hilltopper alumni relations, community service initiatives and all camps and clinics.
With the Buccaneers, he worked mainly with hitters and infielders; provided video analysis to the coaching staff and hitters; served as high school prospect camp director; assisted with recruits while they were on campus; assisted with the annual golf tournament fundraiser as well as other program fundraising projects; participated in student-athlete success sessions; and oversaw game day field preparations.
Winterstein became a Student Assistant Coach for Charleston Southern for the 2016 season where he worked primarily with pitchers and was responsible for managing the bullpen during games. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration later that spring.
