Laura Terry completed her second year on the Western Kentucky University Women's Basketball staff in 2013-14, serving as a graduate assistant.
Terry was a key component of WKU's quick turnaround during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons that saw WKU become the first team in Sun Belt Conference history to win 20 games in consecutive seasons after winning less than 10 in the previous season. WKU also claimed a Sun Belt Conference Tournament championship and appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2008 during Terry's second season at WKU.
A native of Ironton, Ohio, Terry was a member of Louisville's 2009 National Championship team. Terry saw action in 32 games during her freshman season, scoring a career-high 18 points in a victory over Mercer. Terry injured her knee in December of her sophomore season, but returned to the court for limited action later that season as U of L made a run to the 2009 National Championship Game. She returned to the court her junior year but saw action in just 11 games before ending the season with her third knee surgery.
Terry played in 64 games with the Cardinals and started in eight. She finished her career shooting 51.9 percent from the field. Due to injuries, Terry served as a student assistant in 2010-11 and 2011-12.
A member of the varsity basketball team at Rose Hill High School for six years, Terry earned second-team all-state honors during her junior and senior seasons. She also helped Rose Hill become the smallest school to reach the KHSAA Sweet 16® Championship Game during her junior year, and another state-tournament appearance as a senior.
Terry holds a degree from the University of Louisville with a double major in Health and Human Performance (Exercise Science) and Physical Education with Teacher Prep.
