2016-17 (Senior) - Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll... C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal. (Indoor): Opened her senior season with a second-place finish in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.65m (5'5") at the Vanderbilt Opener... Went on to post three more top-five finishes in the high jump... Placed fourth in the high jump (1.71m) and and fifth in the long jump (5.69m), while on the track Akachukwu finished 27th in the 60-meter dash (7.78) at the C-USA Championships in Birmingham, Alabama. (Outdoor): Was a part of the 4x100m relay team that took first at the Hilltopper Relays with a time of 45.47... Placed fourth in the long jump (5.40m) at the Austin Peay Invitational... At the C-USA Championships in El Paso, Texas, tallied a 1.67m (5'5.75") in the high jump to place 13th and a 5.12m (16'9.75") in the long jump to place 24th.
2015-16 (Junior) - Conference USA All-Academic Team...2016 C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll...C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal. (Indoor): Posted the team's top high jump (1.78m) and long jump (5.84m) marks during the season...Set the WKU Indoor high jump record, clearing 5'10"...Won the C-USA Indoor high jump title (5'10") (Outdoor): Posted the team's top high jump (1.75m) and long jump (5.87m) marks outdoors...Part of the Lady Toppers' 4x100 team the posted the third-best time in WKU Outdoor history at 44.76...Owns the second-best WKU Outdoor high jump mark at 5'8.75"...Finished third at the C-USA Outdoor Championships in the 100-meter dash (11.74).
2014-15 (Sophomore) - (Indoor): Akachukwu posted a pair of Top 5 finishes during the regular season and scored points in the high jump for the Lady Toppers at the C-USA Indoor Championships…She began her sophomore campaign with a runner-up showing in the high jump (1.61m) at the Music City Invitational and finished third in the long jump (5.64m) at the Commodore Classic…At the C-USA Indoor Championships, Akachukwu chipped in points to the Lady Toppers' runner-up team finish with a seventh-place performance in the high jump (1.69m). (Outdoor): Akachukwu was a Honorable Mention All-American honoree for the second-straight season as the second leg of WKU's 4x100-meter relay that finished 19th at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships…She ran the second leg for the relay at the NCAA East Preliminary Championships and aided in a school record time of 44.33 seconds that propelled the quartet to nationals…At the C-USA Outdoor Championships, Akachukwu added points to the Lady Toppers' title-winning total with another seventh-place effort in the high jump (1.71m)…Akachukwu was named a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team selection following the season for her accomplishments on the track and in the classroom…She registered four Top 5 finishes during the outdoor regular season, including a second-place high jump finish at the Bellarmine Classic (1.67m) and third-place long jump effort at the Kentucky Relays (5.65m).
2013-14 (Freshman) - (Indoor): Akachukwu led all league freshmen with 14 points scored at the SBC Indoor Track and Field Championships and was named the Women's Most Outstanding Freshman, as voted on by league coaches. Akachukwu ranked seventh overall with the 14 points she contributed to the Lady Toppers title, a total that outranked every non-WKU freshman or sophomore in the conference. She finished second in the high jump with a school record leap of 5-feet-9 ¼ inches and also scored points with a fourth-place finish in the long jump (5.72m) and eighth-place showing in the 60-meter dash (7.72)...Akachukwu finished the indoor season with the highest marks in the league in the high jump (1.76m) and long jump (5.97m). Her high jump clip is the best in school history while her long jump mark ranks fifth in program history. (Outdoor): Akachukwu was one of three Lady Toppers to qualify for NCAA Regionals in multiple individual events in 2014, advancing in the long jump and 200-meter dash while also running the lead leg for WKU's 4X100-meter relay that wound up qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Akachukwu led the quartet to a 44.85-second clocking at the NCAA Regionals, which was the third-fastest time in school history and placed ninth among the field. At the NCAA Championships, the 4x100-meter relay finished 19th to garner Honorable Mention All-American honors...She repeated as an all-league honoree in the high jump at the SBC Outdoor Championships, placing third with a leap of 5-feet-7 ¼ inches (1.71m) while also running the lead leg for WKU's championship-winning 4x100-meter relay. Akachukwu also scored points with a sixth-place showing in the 100-meter dash (11.74) and eighth-place finish in the long jump (5.85m). Her 11.56-second clocking in the 100-meter dash preliminaries was a career-best and the second-fastest time in WKU history...At the end of the season, Akachukwu was named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic team after posting a GPA of 3.90 in addition to her athletic accomplishments.
HIGH SCHOOL: A sprinter-jumper hybrid at Freedom High School, Akachukwu tallied four medals at the 2012 Florida High School Athletic Association Outdoor State Finals. She placed third in the high jump, fifth in the long jump, seventh in the 200-meter dash and eighth in the 100-meter dash. Akachukwu was a four-time all-Conference selection and was Freedom's 2011-12 Female Track Athlete of the Year. She holds personal records of 7.44 seconds in the 55-meter dash, 11.86 seconds in the 100-meter dash, 24.57 seconds in the 200-meter dash, 5-feet-8 inches in the high jump and 19-feet-8 inches in the long jump. Akachukwu currently holds Freedom High School records in both the 200-meter dash and high jump events.
