2015-16 (Junior) - (Indoor): Second-Team All-Conference after second place finish in the 3,000-meter run at the C-USA Championships (8:17.92)...Second-Team All-Conference with second place finish in the 5,000-meter run for second-consecutive season (14.22.96)...Posted the Hilltoppers' top marks on the season in the mile, 3,000-meter run and 5,000-meter run. (Outdoor): Recorded WKU's best marks in the 3,000-meter run, 5,000-meter runner and 10,000-meter run...C-USA First-Team All-Conference after winning the 10,000-meter run at the Conference USA Championships with a time of 31:00.58).
2014-15 (Sophomore) – (Indoor): Takele finished second in the 5,000-meter run at the C-USA Indoor Championships to score crucial points in the Hilltoppers’ run to the league title. He clocked in at 14:29.15 to garner All-Conference USA honors and chipped in more points with a seventh-place showing in the 3,000-meter run. (Outdoor): Takele was the 10,000-meter champion and 5,000-meter runner-up at the C-USA Outdoor Championships as he secured two more All-Conference USA accolades. He won the 10K with a time of 32:36.12 and finished runner-up to UTEP All-American Anthony Rotich in the 5,000 with a 14:50.02 clocking…Takele was a NCAA East Preliminary Championship qualifier in the 10,000-meter run…He ran seven distances races overall in 2015 and placed Top 10 in every one of them.
2013-14 (Freshman) - (Indoor): Takele won the first two races of his career at the UAB Blazer Invitational, capturing top honors in the 3,000 and 5,000-meter runs in his collegiate debut. His 5,000-meter time of 14:49.42 stood as his season best while his 3K time dropped to 8:27.93 at the Kentucky Invitational, where he finished runner up...He placed 15th in the 3,000-meter run at the SBC Indoor Championships with a time of 9:02.54. (Outdoor): Takele only raced five times during the outdoor season but made the most of his limited time on the track, placing third or better in four of the five races...He won the Sun Belt Conference 5,000-meter run title at the SBC Outdoor Championships with a clocking of 15:06.08 and nabbed all-league honors in the 10K as well, placing third at 31:25.52.
