Marcus Jones serves as an Assistant Director of Strength and Conditioning on The Hill where he works primarily with Hilltopper track and field as well as football.
Prior to coming to WKU, Jones spent the 2018 football season at Louisville in a similar capacity working with the football program. In 2017, Jones was a Speed and Strength Coach and also the cornerbacks coach at the University of St. Thomas. He spent the 2016 season as a strength and conditioning assistant at Boise State.
A former student-athlete at the University of Minnesota, Jones played for coach Jerry Kill, with experience both at defensive back and wide receiver. He received his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology in 2014 and his master's in Kinesiology in 2016.
Following his playing career, Jones gained experience in strength and conditioning while working with the Gopher Hockey team, and later became a performance coach for Wellefast Elite Sports Training. In 2016, Marcus became the director of performance at Game Face Training where he was in charge of program design and implementation.
Coach Jones has one daughter, Mya.
