2017 (RS Sophomore): Smith saw time as a key reserve second baseman and pinch hitter in his 1st season, appearing in 32 games for WKU with 4 starts ... Had back-to-back multi-RBI games at Marshall, filling in for the injured Tyler Robertson ... Hit his 1st
homerun as a Hilltopper against the Thundering Herd on May 5, accounting for both of WKU's runs in a 3-2 loss; collected 3 hits the next day, driving in another pair of runs in a 10-9 loss on May 6 ... Led Hilltopper reserves with a .318 batting average, going 7-for-22 in Conference USA action.
