2017 (Junior): Currie started every game but 1 (54-of-55) for WKU, playing every defensive inning in center field except for those 9 ... Tied Hunter Wood with a team-best .386 on-base percentage among Hilltopper regulars, led WKU with 24 walks and ranked third on the club with a .311/.386/.495 slash line ... Led the team by slashing .336/.414/.500 in 29 Conference USA starts, with top marks of 6 stolen bases and 14 walks in those games ... Led the club with 64 hits, while tying Thomas Peter with a team-best 18 multi-hit games, including a half-dozen 3-hit games to lead the team ... Led WKU with 42 runs scored, while his 11 multi-run games were a team-high ... Legged out a club-best 5 triples, including all 4 3-baggers by the Hilltoppers in non-conference play ... Ranked second on the team with 9 stolen bases on 13 attempts, 8 of which were in the final 32 games ... After his slash line reached a season-low of .213/.288/.426 on March 7, Currie responded with a .434/.489/.632 mark over the following 21 games to raise his numbers to a season-best .350/.415/.553 through 34 contests ... At Walters State CC: Originally signed with the University of Kentucky out of Jackson Northside High School, but decided to play for the Senators instead ... During his 2 seasons in Morristown, Walters State went a combined 94-28, including a third place national finish in 2015 ... In 117 total games, Currie slashed .321/.440/.493 with 123 hits, 122 runs and 101 runs batted in ... Of his 123 hits, 43 went for extra bases (30 doubles, 3 triples and 10 homeruns), which contributed to his 189 total bases ... He added 39 stolen bases - while only being caught twice - with 69 walks and 17 times hit by pitch, compared to 57 strikeouts ... In 2016, he earned All-Region 7 Second Team honors.
