AT THE MATCH
- Wednesday's match against Louisville is a block party.
- The match will also serve as the second 'Hilltopper Assist Scholarship Raffle' match.

HILLTOPPER ASSIST
The Hilltopper Assist is a scholarship donation from the Wiseman Family for WKU Students. The scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship for eligible WKU Students for the following matches: Louisville on Wednesday, Sept. 16 and Oklahoma on Thursday, Sept. 17. In order to participate in the lottery, a minimum of 100 students must be in attendance for each match. The winner will be announced between the second and third sets of the matches listed above. A student can only win the lottery one time.
Wednesday against Louisville will be the second night of the Hilltopper Assist Scholarship Raffle. The Wiseman family has also committed an additional $1,000 scholarship if the student attendance record is broken at the match (at least 342 students).
Thursday against Oklahoma is the third night of the Hilltopper Assist Scholarship Raffle.
ABOUT THE TOPS
- WKU enters the three match stretch at 5-4, earning wins over Pepperdine and James Madison last weekend.
- For the third consecutive week, WKU had a player earn CUSA Weekly honors.
- Tayler Baron was named Defensive Player of the Week. Baron logged 62 digs, a .941 reception average and four aces last weekend. The junior notched 22 digs against Pepperdine and managed 21 against EKU.
- WKU currently has 431 kills, 389 assists, and 78 service aces for a .271 hitting percentage. Kaira Knox has tallied a team best 99 kills for an average of 2.91/set.
- Defensively, the Hilltoppers have tallied 410 digs and 56 total blocks. Tayler Baron is the team leader in digs with 146 (4.29/set). Eliza McKnight is the blocking leader with 20 on the year.
- The Hilltoppers logged a total of 14 service aces against JMU Friday, the most since the 2022 season.
- As a team WKU has tallied 78 aces from the service line which is No. 12 in the nation. Kate Rush is the team individual leader with 24 to lead CUSA and No. 5 in all of NCAA DI.
- Faith Young currently boasts a .438 hitting percentage which leads CUSA and is No. 20 in the nation.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
- Louisville enters Wednesday's match at 9-1 following a 4-0 record against the likes of Missouri, Rice, Creighton, and UNI last week.
- The Cardinals were ranked No. 3 in the Week Three AVCA Taraflex Rankings.
- As a team, Louisville has tallied 511 kills, 470 assists, 46 service aces, and a .320 hitting mark.
- Louisville ranks in the top 10 in kills (7th), hitting percentage (8th), and total assists (10th).
- Offensively, Louisville is led by Chloe Chicoine who is averaging 4.29 kills/set (No. 18 NCAA DI). Nayelis Cabello is the team leader in assists with 11.06/set (11th nationally), and Kalyssa Blackshear leads in hitting percentage (.386).
- Payton Petersen is averaging 4.47 digs/set while Addison Makun is averaging 1.13 blocks/set, both leading in their respective categories.
LOUISVILLE SERIES HISTORY
- Wednesday will mark the 21st time the Hilltoppers and Cardinals have lined up against each other.
- Louisville holds the all-time series edge, 20-0.
- The two have only played in Bowling Green on three occasions, the last being Aug. 31, 2022. The Cardinals won that meeting in a 3-0 decision.
SCOUTING THE SOONERS
- Oklahoma currently sits at 4-2 after splitting their last week of competition.
- The Sooners are set to play at 6 p.m. tonight.
- The Sooners have tallied 317 kills, 291 assists, 27 aces, and a team hitting mark of .297.
- Tekoa Barnes is leading the team in kills with 84 (3.82/set), Avaya Morgan is the assists leader with 254 (11.55/set), and Elisa Hani is logging the best percentage at .483.
- Defensively, Kinsley Singleton leads with 59 digs (2.68/set) and Elise Hani in blocks with 18.
OKLAHOMA SERIES HISTORY
- Thursday will mark the first ever meeting between the Hilltoppers and Sooners.
SCOUTING THE BUCCANEERS
- ETSU enters the week at 1-7, dropping 2-of-3 over the weekend at the Wake Forest Tournament. The Buccaneers host South Carolina at 6 p.m. CT tonight.
- The Buccaneers have logged 414 kills, 389 assists, 51 service aces, and a .208 hitting percentage.
- Makayla Bays leads the team in kills with 107 (3.06/set), Alex Kreutzmann is the assists leader with 162 (4.63/set), and Karis Chatfield holds a .323 hitting percentage.
- Defensively, the Bucs are led by Melanie Morris with 110 digs (3.14/set) and Gianna Blair with 36 blocks (1.13/set).
ETSU SERIES HISTORY
- Saturday will be the 11th all-time meeting between WKU and ETSU.
- The Hilltoppers hold the all-time series edge, 8-2. WKU posts a 4-0 record against the Buccaneers in Bowling Green.
- WKU has won the last six meetings in the series. Their last loss in the series came in a 3-2 defeat on Sept. 4, 1992 in Clemson, S.C.
