BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For the fourth consecutive year, WKU women's golfer Averi Cline has earned the Conference USA Spring Spirit of Service Award. The award honors student-athletes with significant community service endeavors, good academic standing and participation in their sport.
Cline exemplifies what the Spirit of Service Award represents. She totaled 178 community service hours this year, carrying out a wide range work throughout that time. She was consistently involved with youth ministry, campus outreach and non-profit support programs. She was involved with Crossland Kid Ministry, Crossland Vacation Bible School, Crossland Fortify and Crossland Wednesday Night programming. She also worked with PBC Curbside and Kid Ministry. She has also contributed to larger service initiatives such as Feed My Starving Children, Special Olympics (including an adults campus tour), FCA Camp and FCA Character Coach activities, and various campus and community engagement events like Topper Fest and WKU Russell Sims outreach. In addition, she has supported multiple charitable drives and awareness events including Bat Out Breast Cancer, Boo Baskets, Make the Seasons Bright, High Five Friday initiatives, can donations, and holiday and fundraiser efforts such as golf and community benefit events
This season, Cline played in nine tournaments with the Lady Toppers. Her best finish came in the CUSA Championship where she finished in a tie for 16th place. She tied for 28th place at the Badger Invitational in the fall. In her career, she played in 41 tournaments with WKU with 16 top 25 finishes.
The Suwanee, Georgia native graduated with a 3.96 GPA, earning a bachelor's degree in psychology. In her time on The Hill, she was named to the All-CUSA Second Team in 2024-25, earned CUSA All-Academic second team honors twice and earned WGCA All-American Scholar Team honors twice. She was also named the Female Community Outreach Award recipient at the annual TOPSYs Awards all four years.
