OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – WKU Baseball's Reid Howard has been named a 2026 Brooks Wallace Award semifinalist, the College Baseball Foundation announced.
Howard was one of 50 shortstops across the country that was named to the list. The top 50 shortstops in the country were selected based on both their offensive and defensive production this season.
Â
The award honors the nation's top shortstop and will be presented by the College Baseball Foundation later this year. It is named for former Texas Tech shortstop Brooks Wallace, who played for the Red Raiders from 1977 to 1980. Wallace died of leukemia at the age of 27.
Howard has appeared in 25 games this season and holds a .286 batting average with 12 RBIs on 24 hits. Defensively, Howard has 25 putouts and 55 assists for a .964 fielding percentage.
