DALLAS – WKU Softball's Lauren Satterly was named Conference USA Freshman of the Week for the first time this season, the league office announced Monday.
Satterly helped the Hilltoppers to a 3-0 sweep of Kennesaw State and the first 15-0 home conference record in CUSA history behind a .571 batting average, going 4-for-7 at the plate with a double and three singles.
The freshman also posted a .727 on-base percentage thanks to three walks, one hit-by-pitch, and her four total hits. Satterly also never struck out in her 11 total plate appearances.
Satterly's best game was Friday when she went 2-for-3 at the plate and recorded one RBI. Of the 33 runs scored by WKU over the weekend, she drove in four while scoring six herself.
She finished the weekend going a perfect 2-for-2 with runners in scoring position and was 5-for-6 when in a situation to advance runners. Satterly also posted a team-high four RBI collected with two outs.
