BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Mahurin Family Foundation Head Coach Hank Plona announced the signing of 6-10 rising sophomore Moussa Konare to the 2026-27 roster.
Konare joins the Hilltoppers after one season at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Texas.Â
"Moussa has a chance to be a great player," said Plona. "He is just scratching the surface of his potential. He's been very well coached at Trinity Valley and improved day by day and month by month throughout his freshman season. We expect Moussa to step in and make a huge impact next year. He is going to be a player Hilltopper fans love to watch."
In 2025-26, Konare appeared in 28 games with 19 starts, helping lead the Cardinals to a 30-6 record, a Region XIV Championship and a berth in the NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship Semifinals. He averaged 5.6 points and 5.6 rebounds in 19.6 minutes per game, scoring in double figures six times and recording three games with 10 or more rebounds.
Konare shot 53.1% from the field and scored a season-high 13 points on two occasions, against Kilgore College on Dec. 3 and Lee College on March 14. He recorded an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double in a season-high 33 minutes against Lee College on March 7.
Prior to his time at Trinity Valley, Konare developed at the Joel Freeland Academy in Gran Canaria, Spain, a high-performance basketball program founded by former NBA and EuroLeague player Joel Freeland.
