HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals opened the scoring in the first inning on a base hit with two out in the inning to take a 1-0 lead. A double would give the Cardinals a two run lead but a Hayden Robbins, Manny Alberto, JP Acosta relay throw ended the threat in the first.
- Hayden Robbins led off the Hilltopper second and homered to left field on a 2-2 count to cut the deficit to one.
- A two run second followed by a three run fourth for Louisville put the home team up by six runs.
- Both teams went scoreless for the next four frames but with no out in the eighth a double down the left-field line off the bat of Kyle Hayes scored Lane Arroyos from first to cut it to five.
