HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the top of the first the Hilltoppers loaded the bases and JP Acosta reached on a fielder's choice that scored the leadoff man Austin Haller to give WKU a 1-0 lead.
- Hayden Robbins picked up from a career day Sunday and laced a double down the left field line to score Camden Ross and put WKU up two runs.Â
- With two outs in the second and runners on first and third, Lane Arroyos drove out his fifth home run of the year on an 0-1 count to make it a five-run Hilltopper lead.
- After a quiet few innings, back-to-back singles for the Hilltoppers put runners on first and second as Arroyos grounded out to put both into scoring position.
- Kyle Hayes then flew out to the right fielder to score Austin Haller and make it a 6-0 game.
- A wild pitch scored Ross and opened up the WKU advantage to 7-0 in the top half of the sixth inning.
- The Bruins scored their first run of the game on a passed ball on a dropped third strike to make it a 7-1 game in the bottom of the seventh. Belmont added a run in the eighth to make it a five-run game, ultimately leading to the final score of 7-2.

- With the win WKU improves to 13-8 (3-0 CUSA) on the year.
- WKU has now won five straight games, their longest streak of the season.
- The win marked the 30th for WKU in their 56 game history with Belmont. The Hilltoppers now hold a 30-26 series lead.
- Ka'olu Holt started for the Hilltoppers on Wednesday. He finished with three strikeouts and two walks in 1.0 inning of work.
- Holt earned his first win of the season and is now 1-1 on the year.
- WKU used nine relievers on Wednesday in Bryson Vawter, Kane Samuels, Gage Olsen, Roman Petricca, Conner Wolf, Mac McGarry, Sam Frizzi, Declan Francis, and Jacob O'Day.
- Vawter and Petricca both made their first appearances as Hilltoppers on Wednesday. Vawter tossed 1.0 innings and faced three batters and Petricca tossed 0.2 innings and struck out one batter.
- Jacob O'Day closed out the game for WKU and struck two batters in 1.0 inning pitched.
- Hilltopper pitchers combined to toss 11 strikeouts on Wednesday. WKU has now done so in 10 games this season.
- Lane Arroyos recorded three RBIs for the third time this season and the second time in the last week. Arroyos finished 1-for-5 along with his three RBIs and one run.
- Arroyos also powered his fifth home run of the year, a 3-run home run to right field, to put the Hilltoppers up 5-0 in the second inning.
- Camden Ross went 2-for-2 on Wednesday to lead the Hilltoppers in the category and finished with three runs scored.
- Austin Haller went 1-for-3 on Wednesday and scored three runs.
- Hayden Robbins finished the day 1-for-1 with one RBI.
