ABOUT THE TOPS
- WKU earned its first CUSA victory of the season Thursday night against Sam Houston, 2-0. Makenna Egan put the Tops on the board in the 12th minute after a double assist from Maggie Bellair and Danielle Lewin. Minutes later, Egan secured the brace after taking on a defender one-on-one to make the score 2-0. In the final minutes, the Bearkats made one last offensive push, but goalkeeper Mia Riddick came up with a clutch save on a shot toward the top of the net to secure the shutout.
- WKU Soccer finished non-conference play undefeated for just the second time in program history.
- As a team, the Hilltoppers sit among the nation's best defensively, ranking seventh nationally in GAA (0.333), fourth in save percentage (0.907), and 13th in shutout percentage (0.667).
- As a team, the Hilltoppers have outscored their opponents 15-4 while averaging 13.1 shots per game.
- Between the posts, goalkeeper Mia Riddick has been a key part of the Hilltoppers' success, recording 36 saves while allowing just two goals this season. Riddick currently leads CUSA in goals-against average (0.21), saves, and shutouts per game (0.545). Nationally, Riddick ranks first in save percentage (0.947), third in GAA, and 11th in shutouts (6). Riddick has earned CUSA Goalkeeper of the Week honors twice this season.
- For the season, sophomore forward Makenna Egan leads the Hilltoppers with six goals. She has recorded a brace in two separate games this year: SEMO and Sam Houston. Egan's four game-winning goals this season rank second in CUSA and sixth nationally.
- Midfielder Georgia Liapis has provided a team-high four assists this season, a mark that ranks first in CUSA.
- Maggie Bellair is the first Hilltopper to record multiple goals (2) and assists (3) this season. Bellair is tied for second in CUSA for assists.
- Danielle Lewin has also recorded three assists this season, tying her for second in CUSA.
- The WKU roster runs deep, as five other Hilltoppers have found the back of the net this season: April McDonald (3), Danielle Lewin (1), Cena Carlson (1), Tyler Roth (1), and Sophia Lezizidis (1).
- Junior defender Abby Wiedermann has anchored the Hilltoppers' back line throughout the first half of the season, playing a team-leading 884 minutes. She has earned CUSA Defensive Player of the Week honors once this season.
- The Hilltoppers are led by Jason Neidell in his 26th season on The Hill as the only head coach in WKU women's soccer history. Neidell earned CUSA Coach of the Year honors last season.

- Sunday's matchup will be the fourth meeting between WKU and Missouri State all-time.
