BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Baseball will compete in a midweek matchup facing Belmont on Tuesday, March 17, at First Horizon Park in Nashville. Home of the Milwaukee Brewers Triple-A affiliate, the Nashville Sounds, the Hilltoppers return to the state-of-the-art Minor League Baseball facility after previously playing an exhibition matchup at the venue against Tennessee in the fall of 2024.
WKU's last meeting with Belmont came in 2023, as the Tops secured a home-and-home series sweep against the Bruins with an 11-1 run-rule victory on March 7 at Nick Denes Field. WKU holds a 29-26 advantage in the all-time series against Belmont.
The nonconference matchup will serve as the first of two against the Bruins in 2026, with the Tops set to host the Bruins in a rematch on April 7.
"WKU baseball is thrilled to be able to play at First Horizon Park, home of the Nashville Sounds," head coach Marc Rardin said. "We were fortunate enough to play there two falls back versus the University of Tennessee, and being able to enjoy the beautiful venue again and compete against Belmont will be a great experience for our student-athletes. We feel honored that Belmont made this midweek happen with us as the opponent and is letting us share in the event."
First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. CT with gates opening at 5:30 p.m. Belmont will serve as the designated home team for the game.
Tickets for the game will start at just $10 and can be purchase online, in person at the Nashville Sounds Ticket Office or by calling (615) 690-4487.Â
WKU Baseball enters its 107th season coming off a landmark year in 2025 that saw the Tops post a 46-14 (18-9 CUSA) final record and secure the 2025 Conference USA Championship for the first time since joining the league in 2015. WKU opens its 2026 slate hosting a four-game series against BYU from February 13-16.
