BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- WKU Volleyball wrapped up the Alyssa Cavanaugh Classic with a perfect 3-0 record after sweeping Austin Peay, 3-0.Â

The Hilltoppers (9-3 overall) turned in a balanced performance, as four different players finished with at least five kills and five players finished with at least four blocks against the Governors (1-10 overall). Sophomore outside hitter Alivia Skidmore led the Hilltoppers with seven kills and both junior middle hitter Izzy Van De Wiele and sophomore middle hitter Faith Young finished with four blocks each.Â

Set 1: 25-18Â
WKU came out swinging in the first set, collecting 12 kills to Austin Peay's nine. Along the way, the Hilltoppers' defense at the net accumulated six team blocks and forced 11 Governor hitting errors. Van De Wiele led on both sides of the net with four kills and three blocks. Skidmore was also responsible for the set's only service ace. Van De Wiele also recorded another kill to bring her total to five. The Hilltoppers closed out the first set with a .346 clip and held APSU to a -.065 hitting percentage.Â

Set 2: 25-14Â
The Hilltoppers' performance at the service line improved dramatically, collecting five total service aces just in the second frame alone. Sophomore libero Tayler Baron was responsible for two and senior setter Callie Bauer, freshman setter Kate Rush, and Young collected one each. Skidmore racked up four kills on a .500 hitting percentage and for the second straight set, WKU's defense forced the Governors into double-digit hitting errors (11). Â

Set 3: 25-13Â
Set three featured three kills from Young to bring her total to six. Skidmore and freshman pin hitter Sonja Laaksonen collected two more kills to bring their totals to seven and six respectively. At the net, junior middle hitter Gabby Weihe led with two blocks with Rush and Skidmore contributing the third team block. Â
