NOTABLES
- WKU posted a 288 score (E) in the first round, the best round score the Lady Toppers have played this season.
- Senior Sydney Hackett leads WKU on the leaderboard, tied for fourth place behind a 3-under score of 69 for the first round. After going even on the first six holes, Hackett birdied four holes on the back nine to finish with her best score of the season. Her five total birdies are tied for the second most in the tournament.
- Freshman Leah Edwards finished the day with an even 72, tying for ninth place in the field. That 72 is the best score of the season for the freshman.
- Sophomore Kaylee Dwyer shot her best round of the season as well with a 73 (+1) for the round, tying her for 14th place.
- Senior Averi Cline fired a 74 (+2) for the day, putting her in a tie for 25th place. She's one of only two players in the tournament to have an eagle so far.
- Junior Julia Zigrossi, playing as an individual for WKU, posted a 76 (+4) for the round, putting her in a tie for 43rd place.
- Freshman Reagan Ramage shot a 77 (+5) for the day, tying for 54th place.
QUOTABLE
"I'm proud of the team for bouncing back on a tough course today," said head coach Adam Gary. "It was good to see Sydney play a solid round. I feel like everyone is close to having a breakthrough round. I'm excited for the rest of the event."

The Badger Invitational will continue for round two on Monday, Sept. 15. The first Lady Topper will tee off at 10:30 a.m. (CT).
