Kameron Horton was the headliner for WKU as he took first place in the 200-meter dash, setting a new personal best.
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
Luke Stegman became the first headliner for the Hillltoppers on Sunday, as he took the bronze medal in the men's discus. Two other Hilltoppers set a personal best in the event as well.
Horton highlighted the day for WKU, winning the Conference USA Championship in the men's 200 meter dash. His mark is personal best and is in the top-25 in all of NCAA DI. His mark is also the best for WKU in the conference meet since 2018 when Julius Morris won the event with a time of 20.32.
Wade Balcom managed a top-five mark in the 800, setting a new personal best time of 1:50.

- Seven set a new personal best when the events of the day had been tallied.
- Kameron Horton highlighted the events of the day winning the CUSA Championship in the men's 200-meter dash.
- His mark is a new personal best and stands at No. 18 in the NCAA East Region and No. 23 in all of NCAA DI.
- Luke Stegman set a PR in the men's discus, taking the bronze medal, with a mark of 52.72 meters.
- Wade Balcom set a PR in the men's 800 with a mark of 1:50, good for a top-five finish.
- LeAndre Bolen set a PR in the men's discus with a mark of 49.67 meters.
- Kaison Barton charted a PR in the men's discus with a mark of 44.31 meters.
- Nayla Martin managed a PR in the women's 1500 meter run with a time of 4:32.
- The men managed to score 71 points as a team which mark the most for WKU since 2019 (99).Â
- Their fifth place finish is also the best since 2019 (4th).
NEXT UP
The Hilltoppers will await the list of qualifiers for NCAA East Regionals, set to be released on Thursday, May 22. The NCAA first round will run Wednesday, May 28 through Saturday, May 31 in Jacksonville, Fla.
