DALLAS, Texas – WKU women's golf freshman Kaylee Dwyer earned her second career CUSA Golfer of the Week honor on Wednesday. It marks the sixth time this season a Lady Topper has earned the weekly honor (Dwyer, Catie Craig and Sydney Hackett have each won twice).
Dwyer won the Tennessee Spring Challenge on Monday, posting a 4-under 140 to claim her first career victory. She is the first freshman since Sydney Hackett in the Fall of 2022 to earn a victory for WKU. Dwyer led the field with nine birdies and was 2-under on the Par 3s, best in the field. She bested a field that included five Top 150 players.
As a team, Dwyer's victory propelled WKU to dominating wins over No. 18 Vanderbilt (11 shots) and No. 31 Tennessee (22 shots). It was WKU's third win of the season, setting a new program record for most wins in a single season.
Dwyer and the Lady Tops next head to the Conference USA Championships in St. Augustine, Fla., April 14-16.
