The Hilltoppers (27-19-1 overall, 12-10-1 CUSA) collected four total runs thanks to two singles and two bases-loaded walks, but FIU (29-19-1 overall, 11-12-1 CUSA) matched WKU's offensive efforts.
HOW IT HAPPENED
WKU 4, FIU 4
Scoring first for the sixth-straight game, the Hilltoppers got one in the third inning thanks to an RBI single by Morgan Sharpe. Prior to Sharpe's at-bat, Macy Gregor reached with a single up the middle, advancing to second thanks to a sacrifice bunt from Katie Murphy.
Errors plagued WKU on Sunday, as a throwing error allowed one Panther to score while a second scored, unearned, after a FIU single up the middle.
Down 2-1 going into the fourth, Maci Masters, Randi Drinnon, and Charlotte Herron all reached to stuff the bases full of Hilltoppers, with Gregor drawing a bases-loaded walk for the second run of the day.
Still in the top of the fourth, Murphy also grabbed a bases-loaded walk to score the third run for WKU, and with bases still loaded, Sharpe singled to shortstop for the fourth run and her second RBI of the game.
The Panthers notched their third run with a bunt single in the home half of the fourth and tied the game in the home-half of the fifth after a WKU fielding error.
Battling for the remaining five innings, neither side pushed a run across prior to the 2 p.m. ET cutoff.
