BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – #20 WKU Baseball fell to Middle Tennessee 10-3 in game two on Friday afternoon at Nick Denes Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• An error gave WKU an early 1-0 lead in the second inning.
Thomas Marsala scored on an errant throw from the MTSU third baseman.
• Two runs scored for the Blue Raiders in the third on an RBI double and a Hilltopper error.
• Middle Tennessee plated four in the fourth inning with back-to-back RBI singles and a two-RBI double to extend its lead to 6-1.
• A two-run homer padded the Blue Raider lead to 8-1 in the fifth.
• Two RBI doubles added a pair to the MTSU advantage in the seventh.

Kyle Hayes homered in the eighth to trim the Blue Raider lead to 10-2.
• An RBI double from
Carlos Vasquez put the third run on the board for the Hilltoppers in the ninth to make the final tally 10-3.
NOTABLES
• WKU drops to 32-7 (10-4 CUSA) on the season and 134-120-2 all-time against Middle Tennessee (18-21, 4-10 CUSA).
• This marks the first loss for the Hilltoppers at home in 2025. WKU is now 23-1 at Nick Denes Field.

Dawson Hall started on the mound for WKU and earned his first loss of the season. The Bowling Green, Ky. native struck out two in 3.2 innings of work while surrendering six runs (five earned) on nine hits.

Zach Lyles,
Dominic Monaco and
Lucas Litteral saw action out of the bullpen. Litteral was effective in relief as he struck out five in 2.2 shutout frames without allowing a hit.
• The WKU offense scored three runs on eight hits and four walks with two RBI.
• Hayes had the only multi-hit outing in a 3-for-4 day with a solo home run and an RBI. It was his fifth of the season and seventh of his career.
• Vasquez went 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI.

Joe Siervo reached base four times in a 1-for-2 performance. He was hit by a pitch twice and walked once.

Camden Ross reached base twice in two plate appearances with two walks and scored one run.
