- Offensively, WKU is sitting seventh in the conference in batting average (.270) and is fifth in ERA (3.56).Â
- Freshman outfielder Kennedy Stinson earned CUSA Freshman of the Week honors for the first time this season. She posted a .700 (7-for-10) batting average with two home runs—including a two-run shot—and three total RBI. She collected a total of 14 total bases and posted a 1.400 slugging percentage over the three days against Middle Tennessee.Â
- Kennedy Stinson is also working with a four-game hitting streak.Â
- Macy Gregor hit her first home run as a Hilltopper on Sunday.Â
- Maci Masters is currently ranked 24th in CUSA for batting average (.328), she currently leads the team in RBI (38) and hits (38). Masters also has 12 home runs on the season, five short of the all-time single-season record.Â
- In the CUSA rankings, Masters is tied for fourth in home runs (12), tied for fourth in RBI (38), fifth in slugging percentage (.698), and fifth in OPS (1.149).Â
- Maci Masters leads the Hilltoppers in multi-hit games with 11, her most recent multi-hit game coming on Game One against MTSU on April 11 with two hits. Â
- With her two RBI on Saturday, Maci Masters took the multi-RBI crown as Saturday's game against MTSU was her 11th game of the season with at least two RBI.Â
- Randi Drinnon continues to hold the lead in CUSA in sacrifice bunts with eight.Â
- In the bullpen, for pitchers with at least ten appearances, Maddy Wood leads with a 3.29 ERA.Â
- Rylan Smith leads CUSA in batters struck out looking with 37 and is fifth in the conference in opposing batting average (.225). Â
- Rylan Smith is currently third in CUSA in strikeouts with 98. Her first ten strikeouts of the weekend against MTSU were all the sophomore needed to cross the 200-career strikeout threshold.Â
- Against MTSU, Smith also posted a meager .083 opposing batting average. In her 11.1 innings of work, she posted a 1.85 ERA which was her lowest of any appearance so far. Smith finished the weekend with 18 total strikeouts and only three hits.Â
- Smith leads the bullpen in strikeouts with 90, while Wood and Houge have 34. Smith also posted a career-high 12 strikeouts in the Saturday game against MTSU.Â
ABOUT THE AGGIESÂ
- The Aggies are currently 22-19 overall and 9-9 in CUSA play.Â
- NMSU returns Freshman All-American Desirae Spearman after a 2024 campaign that boasted a .366 batting average, a conference-leading 18 home runs and 1.337 OPS, and was also tied for third in CUSA with 43 RBI. In the circle, Spearman posted an 8-4 record with 75 strikeouts and maintained a 3.15 ERA in 17 appearances across 84.1 innings of work.Â
- In 2025, Spearman currently has a 3.21 ERA through 85.0 innings pitched and possesses a 9-5 record. Â
- Spearman is also ranked fourth in the conference in opposing batting average at .222, just ahead of WKU's Rylan Smith.Â
- In addition to her Freshman All-American accolades from both D1 Softball and Softball America, she was named the 2024 CUSA Player of the Year and CUSA Freshman of the Year while collecting All-CUSA First Team as both a pitcher and outfielder, while also earning a spot on the All-CUSA Freshman team.Â
- Spearman currently leads the Aggies and is second in CUSA with a .474 batting average in her 38 games played. Across that stretch, she's recorded a total of 46 hits in 97 at-bats while 17 of those hits being home runs for a 1.093 slugging percentage. She's second on the team in RBI with 39 while her 17 home runs are a team high.Â
- Alongside Spearman is Kristiana Watson who has the third-best batting average on the team with a .355 but has the second-best slugging percentage at .696.Â
- NMSU has three different players ranked in the top 10 of eight different hitting leaderboards in CUSA.Â
