BOWLING GREEN, Ky – WKU Softball dropped the series against Liberty on Friday, dropping to 14-11 overall and 1-4 in Conference USA play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game Two: WKU 3, Liberty 10
While the Flames got on the board first in Game Two, the Hilltoppers answered with three runs of their own in the home half of the inning.
With bases loaded, sophomore designated hitter
Maci Masters reached on error to score the first. Freshman outfielder
Kennedy Stinson knocked two more in with a double to right center to give WKU the lead, 3-1.
Liberty hit a two-run home run in the top of the second to level the score at three each.
Both sides went three innings without scoring until the top of the fifth when Liberty scored 7 runs.
The Flames scored seven in the top of the sixth to take the second game of the day.
Game One: WKU 0, Liberty 10
The Hilltoppers were only able to get two hits throughout the seven innings while the Flames scored in almost every inning but the fifth and sixth.
WKU managed a single from sophomore outfielder
Kendle White and another from third-year
Kaytlan Kemp.
