NOTABLES
- Freshman Trevor Drew's 5-under 67 was his best collegiate round by eight shots. He tallied seven birdies and a double bogey and sits in second.
- Drew's seven birdies on the day were tied for the most in the field. He played the Par 3s at 2-under, best in the 64-player field.
- Stephen Warren finished inside the Top 10 after the first round, thanks in part to 12 pars and four birdies.
- Nic Hofman played the Par 3s at 1-under and had 13 pars, tied for most in the field. He finished the day at 1-under overall.
- As a team, the Hilltoppers were best among the 12-team field in Par 3-scoring at 2-under par on the day. WKU was fifth in Par 4-scoring at 8-over, but could not take advantage on the Par 5s Sunday, as the Tops finished at even-par on those holes.
- WKU's 17 birdies were tied for fifth in the 12-team field. If you add Drew's seven birdies, WKU's 24 birdies were most among the entire field. The Tops finished the day with 55 pars, tied for second-most in the field.
