BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU men's golfer Ethan Smith was named the Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday.
The Marietta, Georgia native tied for 14th place at the Cullan Brown Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky on Tuesday. The tournament was shortened to 36 holes on the final day due to weather.
Smith carded a 71 (E) in the first round and a 70 (-1) in the second for a final score of 141 (-1). Smith defeated individuals from Kentucky, Tennessee, Michigan, NC State, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Memphis, Cincinnati, Kennesaw State, Toledo, Eastern Kentucky, Lipscomb, and North Alabama.
Smith and the Hilltoppers will be back in action on Oct. 13 and 14 at the Purdue Fall Invitational in West Lafayette, Indiana.
